I like to have some small tapestries going to facilitate trying out new techniques or ideas. I am calling this one December Doodle. I may set a goal of continuing this practice as a monthly exercise.
In December Doodle I was experimenting with different ways of doing wedge weave. I also wanted to see if I could create cross hatch lines, as in drawing. I think I had good results with thin twining over a wedge section with contrasting colors - I think it is called feather stitch. I also wanted to take on oval or lozenge shapes. Not sure that was successful - but it reminds me of a fallen snowman. The wild hair is also twined.
The colors are influenced by the holiday season. I hope this finds you merry and bright!
